This collection contains administrative and activity records of the Committee on the Status of Women as well as reference materials used by the committee members.

In 1973 St. Olaf College President Sidney A. Rand established a faculty committee called the Women's Task Force to address issues affecting women at St. Olaf. In 1975 the task force was renamed the Women's Affairs Committee and in 1977 was renamed the Committee on the Status of Women. The committee was in operation until at least 2002. Committee members were appointed by the college president, and included faculty, staff, and students.

This collection documents the creation and evolution of the Committee on the Status of Women at St. Olaf College from its beginnings in the 1970s through the 1990s. It contains meeting minutes, reports, activity planning materials, correspondence, news articles, and reference materials.
