Lathe-turned wooden bowl painted dark blue on the outside with a red rim and a dusty beige interior. Red lettering circles the inside and reads, "6 F O J 1 R 8 A [?]", with black lettering above and to one side reading, "A.O. Serum."

"Wooden bowl painted cream on the interior, teal blue on the exterior, with a brown rim. Size 8" W x 2 3⁄4" H. Gold painted inscription: S1R8A6T0. The "T'' has an extra cross bar. The meaning of these letters and numbers is unclear. The bowl bears the A.O. Serum signature in black paint. Item number 1561, donated by A.O. Serum, Halstad Minn." - Description from 2006 appraisal by Mary Jo Thorsheim

In the 2006 appraisal, red lettering and rim were described as gold in color but are no longer this color. It is unclear why the color is recorded differently or the meaning of the lettering.
