"Triangular box ("Tine"). Rosemaling includes medallion on center front bearing the initials JADN and the date 1857. Date of origin: 1857 (dated, although it may not be this old). Pristine condition may mean that either it has been carefully restored, or it is a reproduction painted in the 1940s in Norway when the Hustvedt family visited Voss and received this pine box as a gift. The design can be placed in West Norway, the area in which Voss is located. Donor: Harriet Hustvedt estate." - Description from 2006 appraisal by Mary Jo Thorsheim
