Steel hammer head with no shaft. The head shows signs of moderate to heavy wear, and wood fibers have adhered to it.

"Steel hammer head, without shaft (handle). Steel was expensive in Norway, so possibly immigrants would value this type of object and bring it with them to the new land. Shape of the hammer head suggests that it was used for stone rather than wood.
