"Wooden basket ("kurv'') with West Norway-type of rosemaling from Os in Hordaland province. Painted in what is called "husflids style" (home crafters' work). Inscription on flat, top edge, in gold paint: (trans: A basket for your sewing equipment is a good thing to have and this one I give to you as a remembrance of a friend in haalandsdalen.
