Large ceramic tureen with two matching large plates. All have handpainted nature scenes and fishermen in blue, brown, green, black, and yellow. The tureen has two handles, a lid with a ram-shaped knob, and a notch for a spoon. The smaller plate has two holes on the back, presumably for hanging. All have "GRAVERN NORSK" stickers and a green handwritten "3800.47". There is also black handwriting on the back of each; on the tureen, it reads "570/217D", on the smaller plate, "346/D [?]", and on the larger plate, " 84/217D". The smaller plate and tureen bottoms are impressed with a maker mark, "NORSK". The tureen exhibits wear, chips, and signs of previous breakage and repair.

A note with the tureen states it was given to the Saint Olaf College Choir at a reception following their concert in Sandnes, Norway, in 1955. That year, the Saint Olaf College Choir completed a European tour that included Norway. A tureen is a large covered dish for serving foods like soup or vegetables.
