A note with the beaker reads:

"This heirloom was a wedding-present in 1801 to Hans Anderson and Sigrid Larsdatter Auclen of Stikle-Stadsogn, Verdalen, Norway. — Sigrid Larsdatter Auglen, after her husband's death, came to the home of her nephew, Lars Larson Sōndre Ekloe, and remained there the rest of her life. — She gave this beaker to her nephew, Lars Ekloe.

Lars Ekloe and his wife, Ingeborg Anna Ekloe, were the granduncle, grandaunt and adopted parents of Ingeborg Anna Rosvold. — Ingeborg Anna Rosvold was born at Rosvold in Verdalen, June, 7, 1863, her parents being Peter and Annie Rosvold (Annie, fȯot Volen). — Ingeborg Anna Rosvold was baptized and confirmed by Provsten Kok, in Stklestad church. — When her parents left Norway for the United States, Ingeborg Anna Rosvold came to the Ekloe home and became their adopted daughter.

When the adopted parents, Lars and Ingeborg Ekloe died, Ingeborg Anna inherited this beaker and took it with her to the United States in 1887, where she was reunited with her parents in Dane Prairie, Otter Tail County, eight miles east of Fergus Falls, Minnesota.

It is her wish that this beaker be present in memory of Ingeborg Anna Rosvold to St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota."
