A brown clergy chasuble known as a "messehagel" in Norway. The front of the messehagel depicts a hand-embroidered image of Jesus on the cross surrounded by two witnesses who are praying. The year "1719" is stitched below the depiction. The messehagel features intricate embroidery around the edges of the garment. The chasuble is likely made primarily from a combination of silk and velvet. The embroidery features thin ribbons of metal combined with thread to give a slight "glistening" effect.
