Seven black academic hoods with blue lining and red velvet trim, blue and yellow lining with purple velvet trim, gold lining and white velvet trim, gold and maroon lining and red velvet trim, red lining and blue velvet trim, gold and purple lining with purple velvet trim, and black and gold lining with purple velvet trim. Labels indicate the makers as "Joston's", "Cotrell and Leonard", and "WILLSIE CAP & GOWN CO." with three indistinguishable or without labels.

Dr. Sidney A. Rand was President of Saint Olaf College from 1963 to 1980 and the United States Ambassador to Norway from 1980 to 1981. These hoods were used at Concordia-Moorhead in 1956, Colorado College in 1976, Carleton College in 1980, St. John's University in 1980, St. Scholastica in 1985, Augustana College in 1988, and Luther College in 1997.

Along with accession 2020.396, one of the hoods is from accession 2021.216.
