Large safe made from steel with a hinged door. The safe features a combination dial and handle. The front of the safe displays a painted image of what appears to be trees. The front also reads, "St. Olaf's School. | HALL'S SAFE & LOCK CO. | CINCINNATI | O.A. CAVAN, DEALER, MINNEAPOLIS, MINN." The safe's interior is lined with carpet on the bottom with compartments for storage. Some of the compartments are locked with keyholes. The interior of the door features a floral painted design and reads, "HALL'S PATENT" at the top. The safe sits on four steel wheels.
The safe was purchased in 1887 for St. Olaf College for $85. It held official school records, cash, and other valuables.
