Brown leather cylindrical letter box with a leather strap over the lid and buckle on the base. "Is uncaned for | Return to | Class '09-Letter, | St. Olaf College, | Northfield, | Minn. | U.S.A. [?]" is handwritten in black on the side. Signs of adhesive and postal stamps are also visible. "TRADE | HOTAKOLD | MARK" is impressed on the bottom. Blue felt lines the interior. The stitching has partially unraveled on the top and bottom, and the leather strap is severed.

This letter box was used by the Saint Olaf College Class of 1909 to send letters to one another, round-robin style, from 1909 to 1924. It was donated in the late 1960s by librarian Forrest Brown.
